autumn has arrived

I am SO ready for Fall! It is my favorite season and I always feel shortchanged living where we do because we always have such a short autumn season. Even though it's officially fall, it is 90 degrees today and the next couple days as well. We'll probably get two good weeks of cool weather before it starts raining everyday. That being said, I am going to try and take full advantage of this season before it slips away. Behold, my fall bucket list:

{1} Visit a pumpkin patch
{2} Take fall-themed family portraits
{3} Decorate for Halloween
{4} Decorate for fall
{5} Visit Apple Hill
{6} Visit the library regularly
{7} Bake a pie
{8} Stand outside in the rain with JC (just for a little bit)
{9} Buy tall brown boots
{10} Make homemade apple cider
{11} Bake cookies for Charles to bring into work
{12} Cook something for Thanksgiving
{13} Dust off the crock pot
{14} Knit matching beanies for Charles and JC
{15} Take Tsunami for more walks
{16} Enjoy some cool days at the park before it starts raining
(17} Do something crafty for Halloween
{18} Do something crafty for Thanksgiving
{19} Make hot apple cider from scratch
{20} Spend a rainy day snuggling with my main dudes

I'm so excited, especially for October. Not only is it the month of one my favorite holidays (ahem, Halloween!) but also my birthday and Charles and mine's anniversary (ELEVEN years dude). AND, I don't think I've mentioned it enough yet, but we are going to VEGAS! Holla! Happy beginning of fall everybody!

week in iphone pics, w.12

Another week in iPhone pictures for ya! It's always fun going through the quick snapshots from the week. I think I deserve a prize for how much cooking I did this week. Like fo sho. I also wore my hair differently too??!! This week was cray cray.

monday

Monday, JC woke up from his nap with some awesome bedhead. Probably the best I've seen yet. He played at the playground by our house during his fourteen month photoshoot. And I made caci e pepe that my brother and I drooled over as we watched America's Test Kitchen on PBS. Yeah, I watch PBS. Wanna fight about it?

tuesday

Tuesday, we had some fun during breakfast. JC didn't want to let his dad have a minute of privacy while he used the bathroom. After seeing JC at the park on Monday, I decided to stop by another park by our house before dinner. We played on the swings, looked really emo by these bongo thingys, climbed up the slide all by ourselves, and played in the dirt like a big boy.

wednesday

Wednesday, JC modeled his new pj's that his grandma and auntie bought for him. And a photo of me wearing my hair wavy, glamour shot style. Geez I might as well be super imposed into a brandy snifter. We met dad for lunch at Dos Coyotes. So good. We stopped by the grocery store on the way home to get ingredients for lasagna. JC really needed to make sure I got the right mozzarella. I had to take a picture to show the difference in volume in my hair at the end of the day. I never wear my hair this way but it actually wasn't all that bad. And the fact that it took five minutes made it even better. And a picture of my little sleepy man playing before bedtime.

thursday

Thursday, we got a balloon at the grocery store so that was pretty cool. At least JC really thought so. I made some bomb dot com chicken club sandwiches for lunch. Yes that's a grilled chicken breast, bacon and avocado. It was amazing. And JC colored for the first time at dinner at Macaroni Grill.

friday

Friday, we shared some snuggles after breakfast. JC found this big wheel and decided that he couldn't ride it but he could damn well push it. I made some broccoli cheddar nuggets (pretty good if I do say so myself) and miraculously, JC liked them. Charles stole some cuddles during his lunch break. JC helped me get supplies for carnitas making. And he attempted to brush his hair after his bath.

Tomorrow we are visiting our BFF's with their brand new little baby boy! So excited to grub on some carnitas and love on some babies.

Linked up with a good life and life rearranged.

week in iphone pics, w.6

A little late but here's last week in iPhone pictures!

monday

I couldn't even tell you what we did on Monday. Apparently I didn't have time to take anymore pictures besides this one. But it is really cute so I think this is more of a quality over quantity type situation. Oh wait, I remember. We went out to dinner with Charles's dad and sister for a belated Father's Day meal. Buuuuut I didn't get any pictures of that.

tuesday

Tuesday, we played in JC's room for a little bit. We usually play in the living room and just bring out a few toys but every once in a while I'll let him just go crazy in there. Those books were only some of the carnage left in his wake. When Charles got home from work, we went over to his mom's house for dinner and JC rocked in this little rocking chair.
wednesday

Wednesday, JC enjoyed some daddy time with the guitar. He puts his hands up in the air sometimes. Super pretty sunflowers I bought at Trader Joe's. And I made some yummy spaghetti for dinner. Sauce and garlic cheese bread from Trader Joe's as well. Love that place!

thursday

I have definitely been bit by the little Suzy Homemaker bug lately. This is some banana bread that I made late Wednesday night. Got the recipe from Grumbles & Grunts. Turned out super delicious and JC loves it! It's great to keep him happy while I take a couple minutes to throw his yogurt/fruit/cereal together for breakfast. And I feel like it's sorta good for him. I hit the treadmill for the first time in AGES. I made Charles move the damn thing into our bedroom a few months back because I was convinced that I would run on it if I could watch TV. Didn't happen. It was really hot this day and I was sweating just sitting on the couch. So I figured I might as well do some productive sweating. And I made some pretty simple but yummy chicken for dinner. Some banana bread leftover from snacktime in the background.

friday

Friday brought another good morning workout. It made me feel brave enough to venture out to Costco, my arch nemesis. Then we came home and had a Nicki Minaj dance party. And when Charles came home, JC gave his best Billie Joel impression.

We had a great time in San Francisco over the weekend also. I have a couple pictures that I think are halfway decent that I can share next time. I got to go figure out dinner so I can keep up my good housewife act.
